A Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) Operator cuts metal and plastic parts to specific dimensions. CNC operators are very involved with the quality production of parts to meet customer specifications across many facets of the manufacturing industry. Students will learn basic CNC Machine operation principles, including Blueprint Reading, GD&T, Shop Math, English to Metric Conversions, Basic Programming Language, Multi-coordinate CNC axis, and CNC Machine Operator. The course is composed of 150 classroom hours and 90 hours of online training for a total of 240 hours. Completers of this course are encouraged to sit for the NIMS Measurement, Materials & Safety CNC Level I (entry level) certification exam. The NIMS Registration fee and testing fee are not included in the course fee.
