Introduction to Welding and Metal Sculpting

Course Description

This is an introductory course designed for the beginning student welder to familiarize them with the welding trade and safety practices. Perfect if you want to learn how to safely and effectively use an oxy-acetylene cutting torch, plasma torch, and have an overview of the following welding procedures (SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW). This course could also be taken to learn the various basic welding techniques and how they can be applied to basic welding projects such as metal sculpture, auto repair, and metal fence building.

Equipment: You are to provide your own PPE and welding equipment.

Fee does not include required Safety Equipment. Will need to bring: welding hood, safety glasses, all leather work boots above the ankle, wire brush, chipping hammer, gauntlet welding gloves, half round file, soap stone and holder, vise grip pliers, and side cutter pliers!
