Hazardous Materials Emergency Response - Technician Level (OSHA 1910.120 HAZWOPER - 40 Hours)
Ensuring that employees have the ability to provide emergency response to a chemical spill response capability is a prudent step toward being prepared for an unforeseen incident. OSHA requires that certain industrial personnel must be trained and prepared to respond to and handle an unexpected chemical release in your facility (29 CFR 1920.120). The US Environmental Protection Agency, in cooperation with OSHA, has developed a training curriculum that meets the requirements of federally mandated employee training. The Buck Mickel Center offers courses that cover the necessary competencies for compliance when responding to incidents involving hazardous materials.
Meets the EPA and OSHA requirements for emergency response team members who respond to stop spills and releases of hazardous materials. It includes theory-based and performance-based competencies. Participants are required to participate in practical exercises using instruments and equipment.
