Location: BMC 167
This web-blended course is an ideal option for healthcare providers seeking an alternative to traditional American Heart Association (AHA) Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers classroom training for first-time or renewal certification.
Upon registering for this course, please allow up to 3 business days to receive your access code to the course on the American Heart Association website. The access code will be emailed to you along with instructions on accessing the course. Once you receive your access code from college staff, the self-paced online American Heart Association courseware is accessible anytime (24 hours a day) and takes approximately 90 minutes to complete. The course is divided into three parts. Part 1 delivers the cognitive learning through online modules. A Certificate of Completion is printed by the student after successful completion of the online Part 1 modules. This certificate must be presented to the instructor upon arrival at the practice and skills check session. For Parts 2 and 3, students meet with an AHA instructor to complete a hands-on skills practice session and a skills test. Upon registration and distribution of key code, our office will also schedule you, at no extra charge, into the next available Skills Checkoff session (usually last Friday of every month at 9am). If that date does not work with your schedule, please call 250-8637 to reschedule. Please remember that your scheduled check-off session is considered a class, and cancellation/no-shows may be subject to additional charges/ fees.
Please remember that you MUST bring a copy of your Certificate of Completion for the online portion of the course to your skills check-off session. The skills check must be completed within 60 days of the date of the completion certificate.
