This expedited online training program is designed specifically for practicing Allied Health Professionals (MAs, MTs, LVNs, Techs, etc.). Students will use their extensive medical knowledge to further their skills in this career opportunity. This course is designed to give you the information and knowledge necessary to handle the activities associated with medical scribing and further reduce the administrative burden placed on your physician's by today's electronic medical record systems.
Certificate of completion: Students who complete this comprehensive course will receive a certificate of completion and will be prepared to sit for the Medical Scribe Certification Exam administered by the American Healthcare Documentation Professionals Group.

Course Pre requisites:
Students must have 2-3 years of experience as an allied health professional - (MA, MT, LVN Tech, EMT, and Nurse etc.) preferred but not required.
Successful completion of the American Healthcare Documentation Professional Group's Medical Scribe Readiness Assessment; a score of 80% is required. The readiness assessment covers the following topics:
Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Terminology, Pharmacology, Disease Processes, HIPAA and HITECH.
Prior to registering - Take the Medical Scribe Readiness Assessment. The assessment can be taken 2 times in each 30-day period.
The results of the Medical Scribe Readiness Assessment and your contact information will be sent to Abbe.Fass@gvltec.edu.

Orientation begins at 4:00pm Eastern Time. Orientation provides you an opportunity to meet your instructor and navigate the online class. The Orientation typically takes one hour.
