The Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA) MICROBIAL REMEDIATOR/SUPERVISOR course is designed to prepare attendees for certification by the American Council for Accredited Certifications (ACAC). Each course can also be taken for educational purposes only; council certification is not required for successful course completion. All attendees who successfully complete the training will receive a "Certificate of Completion" from IAQA even if they decide not to pursue ACAC certification.


Property managers, owners, general contractors, insurance adjusters, public health, remediators and associated trades whose work demands a basic understanding of the issues related to microbial remediation projects in indoor environments may choose to pursue certification as an ACAC-Council certified Microbial Remediator (CMR). This certification serves as a means to document core skills and knowledge base in a manner that can be relied upon by individuals and organizations seeking employees or advisors for the execution of microbial remediation projects.


Attendees with more extensive experience may choose to pursue certification as an ACAC Council-certified Microbial Remediation Supervisor (CMRS). This designation is for individuals who supervise microbial remediation projects to meet the specifications set forth in proposals and submittals including: setting up the containment; overseeing labor, developing and implementing site specific operations and emergency procedures; managing equipment and materials on site; managing cleaning, and proper removal and disposal of affected materials; remediating the site according to specifications; and preparing documentation during remediation. This certification serves as a means to document core skills and knowledge base in a manner that can be relied upon by individuals and organizations seeking employees, supervisors or advisors for the direction, management and execution of microbial remediation projects.

IMPORTANT -- PLEASE NOTE Course registration fees do NOT include the CMR/CMRS exam fees. You must pre-pay and pre-apply for the CMR exam directly with ACAC Council 14 days in advance of the test date (less notice may be acceptable on a case by case basis). For experience and education pre-qualifications please contact the ACAC Council at 800-942-0832. The certification application process includes the review, verification and approval of examination results, credentials, education and experience by an independent certification board.



This course is approved for 3 ABIH CM points (Approval # 02-1671).
