Unit I – Prelicensing

This 60-hour course is the first step for those who (90 hours required for the salesperson’s license) want to list, sell, purchase, exchange, lease, or dispose of real estate for others in the state of South Carolina. Topics discussed in this course real estate sales, real property law, agency, federal and state laws and regulations, pricing of real property, contracts, finance and mathematics.

The state exam is not included in the course fee. Books are included.

Greenville Technical College's cancellation, transfer, refund policy may differ from PREP's and supersedes it in all instances where the two policies differ. Please carefully read the policy stated below, which will be strictly enforced; no exceptions. By continuing to register, you consent your understanding of the policy and agree to adhere to it.

You may cancel your registration with seven (7) days notice before the class starts. A processing fee of $25 will be charged for cancellations from courses under $500 and $75 for courses over $500. There is no charge to transfer your registration to another class when requested at least seven (7) days before original class start date.

**Cancellations made with less than seven (7) days' notice will result in forfeiture of total registration fee.**

No transfers are allowed within 7 days of a class start date.

Please note this specific attendance policy: We strongly discourage missing any session or portion of a session. If you have plans that may conflict with a class section, please consider enrolling in a section that you may fully attend without interruption. These classes are very robust and a great deal of material is covered in each meeting. The South Carolina Real Estate Commission and PREPS require that you attend ALL SESSIONS before you can take the PREPS exam and earn a certificate. NO PARTIAL CREDIT will be given for any class. If a student misses any part of a session or more than one module, the module(s) can be made up at a future regularly scheduled class* $25.00 PER MODULE within 6 months or FULL CHARGES will be collected again.


All students are required to conduct themselves in a professional manner including, but not limited to grooming, attitude, disruptive behavior and physical threats. If after two warnings offensive behavior continues the student may be expelled from the class at the discretion of the instructor and forfeit all fees paid for the class. GTC and PREPS have a zero tolerance for cheating. Students caught cheating will be expelled and forfeit all fees paid for the class.
