Students will be required to complete and submit an Application for Certification to the SC Board of Dentistry to be approved and take the Nitrous Oxide Inhalation Monitoring exam. The application may be accessed at the Board's website at: https://llr.sc.gov/bod/, click on "Applications & Forms" and scroll down to the "Nitrous Oxide Monitoring Application." If unsure of qualifications, please call 250-8338 for explanation of details.

Exams are proctored/monitored through PSI Testing Centers.

This, VIRTUALLY taught, four-hour course is designed to teach dental hygienists and dental assistants the proper procedure for monitoring nitrous oxide-oxygen administered in the dental office.

NOTE: Must be or have one of the following -
1. Certificate as a dental hygienist or dental assistant from a ADA school.
2. An OJT dental assistant who has been on the job for at least 2 years.

TENTATIVE DATE---Subject to change NOTE! All course material will be sent via email. This class meets VIRTUALLY. Student must have reliable Internet connection, webcam (video and audio capable). State test given through PSI Testing Center. Students must be a registered Dental Hygienist, an Expanded Dental Assistant or an OJT Dental Assistant who has been on the job for at least 2 consecutive years. SC Board of Dentistry has set specific eligibility requirements. Please make sure you are eligible before registration. Students will be required to complete and submit an Application for Certification to the Board of Dentistry as soon as you receive your Greenville Technical College Nitrous Oxide Inhalation Monitoring certificate (sent via USPS). The Nitrous Oxide application may be accessed at the Board's website at: https://llr.sc.gov/bod/, click on "Applications/Forms" and scroll down to the "Nitrous Oxide Monitoring Certification" found under "Dental Hygiene License."
