Students will be required to complete and submit an Application for Certification to the SC Board of Dentistry to be approved and take the Nitrous Oxide Inhalation Monitoring exam. The application may be accessed at the Board's website at: https://llr.sc.gov/bod/, click on "Applications & Forms" and scroll down to the "Nitrous Oxide Monitoring Application." Exams are proctored/monitored through PSI Testing Centers.

This, VIRTUALLY taught, four-hour course is designed to teach dental hygienists and dental assistants the proper procedure for monitoring nitrous oxide-oxygen administered in the dental office.

NOTE: Must be or have one of the following -
1. Certificate as a dental hygienist or dental assistant from a ADA school.
2. An OJT dental assistant who has been on the job for at least 2 years.
