This is the online version of PMCC Course to prepare you for the Certified Professional Coder exam (CPC).

AAPC's Certified Professional Coder (CPC®) credential is the gold standard for medical coding in physician office settings and held by more than 80,000 coding professionals. CPC's are critical to compliant and profitable medical practices and typically earn 20% more than non-certified coders.* The CPC increases your chances of being hired and retained in a competitive job market.

A Certified Professional Coder has proven by rigorous examination and experience that they know how to read a medical chart and assign the correct diagnosis (ICD-10), procedure (CPT®), and supply (HCPCS Level II) code for a wide variety of clinical cases and services. This course prepares students for a medical coding career in an outpatient physician office. This course is for the student having a basic knowledge of coding and individuals planning to sit for the CPC® exam. If you are looking to start a career in coding with no basic knowledge, please refer to the Medical Coding Basic Class first.

Medical Terminology is required unless proof of completion is provided.

Required Books: Medical Coding Training: CPC current year; current ICD-10CM, CPT and HCPCS coding manuals. This course will be a virtual hybrid. You will meet with instructors via ZOOM twice per week. The rest of the course will be independent study. CPC Certification Exam is an extra out of pocket expense for students planning to take the exam. Student membership to AAPC is also required to be purchased by the student.
