Earn a 3-year certification in forklift safety, preventative maintenance, and driving operation skills (both stand-up and sit-down forklift operation). Topics include OSHA's Powered Industrial Truck Standard (OSHA Standard 1910.178), forklift design limitations, use in material handling, pre-operation check, operator skills and accident prevention. Note: Students must be at least 18 years of age and wear closed-toe shoes required during class.

NOTE: INDIVIDUALS MUST BE 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER TO WORK AS A FORKLIFT OPERATOR IN MOST ENVIRONMENTS. Individuals must wear closed-toe shoes required during class. Please Note: The class starts promptly at 6:00 o'clock. Students who show up late for class will not be admitted to class and will not be allowed to continue in the course. Driving directions to the Forklift Safety Class from the Barton Campus' main entrance at 506 South Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville SC 29607. Come down Pleasantburg and turn on Skyview Drive. Building 112(Dental Building) is on your left. Room 004 is in the basement on the bottom level.
