Course Description

PLEASE NOTE: The meeting times for this course will be determined by the instructor, and it is open for enrollment throughout the entire semester.

This course is for developing your skills in the Gas Metal Arc Welding Process also known as "Mig Welding". This technique's flexibility, speed and relative ease of adapting the process to robotic automation makes it the most common industrial welding process. Welding stringers beads, lap/fillets weld in all positions.



Prerequisites: Completion of Intro to welding with 90% attendance or previous MIG experience. On first day of class student will need to demonstrate appropriate skill level with a GTC instructor for registered course.


Equipment: You are to provide your own PPE and welding equipment.


Fee does not include required Safety Equipment. Will need to bring: welding hood, safety glasses, all leather work boots above the ankle, wire brush, chipping hammer, gauntlet welding gloves, half round file, soap stone and holder, vise grip pliers, and side cutter pliers!

This course is for the development of skills in the TIG Aluminum process. This process is more complex and difficult to master than the GTAW on carbon steel process. You will learn to weld stringer beads, lap/fillet welds in all positions. Prerequisites: Completion of TIG Welding 1with 90% attendance or previous TIG experience. On first day of class student will need to demonstrate appropriate skill level with a GTC instructor for registered course. Equipment: You are to provide your own PPE and welding equipment
