Law and Ethics for Medical Personnel

Noted for it's straigthforward style in which it acquaints students with essential information, this course examines topics on the legal and ethical principles in health care. The student will examine patient/physician relationships, professional liability, medical malpractice prevention, the medical record, confidentiality, bioethical issues and HIPAA.
-Integrated case studies illustrate real-world examples of legal issues and principles in actual medical settings.
-"Points to Ponder" present ethical dilemmas for students to consider-providing critical thinking opportunities and discussion topics.
-Actual legal citations are highlighted throughtout the content to assist with in-depth research.
